Our Treasurer and friend , Mrs.Edith Murphy, (Edie) went to be with the Lord on 12th September 2010. As treasurer Edie looked after the finances of the Club in a very able manner.
Information for new members of the Association
In times past there were Clubs in many parts of the country, and Central Club is the only surviving one of those Clubs.
Apart from the regular closures, mid -June to mid-September and mid-December to mid-January, and fourth Sunday of each month when the centre is used by the Iranian church¸ members still meet on Sundays and Thursdays. This year we have had to close on holiday week-ends, as the city is used, especially on Sundays, for celebrations of one kind or another. Also, bad weather and illness prevented our meeting together.
Annual outing this year was a visit to Airfield in Dundrum, the former home of Letitia and Naomi Overend. Prior to their death they set up a Trust, leaving this unique estate for Educational and recreational purposes. We travelled by bus to the estate and the members had a great time visiting the farm yard, shop and markets. We lunched in the café.
Aims and Objectives are being met by distribution of Bible Notes, calendars, and recreational activities on Thursdays and conversation over tea. Free will offerings support like minded organisations , including Dublin Christian Mission Camp and Christmas Funds, and London City Mission.
Immanuel Church numbers have increased and they may have to have two Services on Sundays, but that decision will not be made until October, so we are able to use the premises for the moment.

Monaghan
Monaghan 2010 Report
J.A.M. (Jesus And Me) Mothers & Toddlers Group
"Taste & see that the Lord is good."
We thank God for answered prayer over the past year. His presence has been evident with us. He has provided us with extra help in two lovely ladies from supported employment and a new FAS worker. This help has been such a blessing as JAM has been so busy. We're as busy as bumble bees with a range of activities going on. These activities range from baking with the children, arts & crafts and even feeding the ducks. As a committee we feel that where ever possible sharing God's love is paramount. Spending time with the mum's for this purpose is often as needful as spending time with the kids.
At the moment we are in the process of buying new tables and chairs for all the mums and kids that are arriving in each week. We do hope to have an evening with the parents to launch our recipe book and share the gospel.
We thank you so much for all your support, prayers and your interest in us. God bless.

Re:mission 2010
Re:mission 2010 was held in one of the disused units in Monaghan Retail Park this year in order to accommodate the anticipated crowds. It was also run over 5 days this year as we felt a weekend alone was too short.
On the last 2 nights our venue was full to capacity with around 600 people in attendance. The attendees were led in worship by the newly constructed Re:mission band and the good news about Jesus was proclaimed by various speakers as well as through testimonies and dramas.
Many people heard the gospel for the first time and hopefully many young Christians were encouraged in their walks with God. Pray for those who made commitments to Jesus for the first time they will become true disciples of His
If you look up remission in the dictionary you will find the definition forgiveness or pardon, as of sins or crimes. Re:mission 2010 was a large scale youth mission which was aimed at showing people how they could receive this forgiveness from their sins.
In the week prior to the 5 day event there was a lot of hard work put in by many different people to turn the shop into an attractive venue where people could co could come to hear about Jesus. When all was finished it looked great complete with a café, full size stage, prayer room and toilets!
The event itself was publicised through schools, open airs, churches, facebook and a local radio station appearance. We were certainly amazed at the crowds of people who came into the event.
Prayer was paramount at Re:mission as well as weekly prayer meeting in the months prior to the mission a prayer meeting was held in the YWCA hall to pray for the event while it was actually running.
We felt that the event was great event for the Christian young people of Monaghan, many of whom had never handed out leaflets, prayed at a prayer meeting or invited their friends to hear the gospel before. Please pray for these young people that they may be inspired to give their all to God in their everyday lives too.
The Y.W.C.A. Day Saturday 2nd April 2011.
The Y.W.C.A. opened its doors to the public from 10.30am to 1pm. There were half hourly demonstrations on sugar craft, flower arranging, patchwork and furniture restoration.
During the demonstrations tea, coffee, scones and tray bakes were served to everyone. It was encouraging to see a large number from the wider community enjoying the morning and not having to worry about the children who were having fun doing their own crafts. Donations were encouraged from the public to benefit the fund raising of the Y.W.C.A.
We were grateful to all the committee who worked so well to make this day a success.
Sunday night fellowship
The Sunday night fellowship meets the first three Sunday nights from September to June. There are various speakers with 30 – 40 attending each evening. Everyone stays to enjoy a cup af tea and fellowship afterwards.
Each November we hold a Missionary Convention for a week. We have missionarys from various countries and societies with the Saturday night being the Irish night.
Missionary Prayer Meeting
A group of ladies meet once a month to pray for mission across the world. One lady downloads prayer points so that they are kept up to date with day to day needs.
Patchwork
I am glad to say that we still have an enthusiastic group of patch workers with four new members. Currently we are working on our sale due to be held in October. The patchwork classes are pleasant, chatty and stimulating. Some lovely work is being produced at present and friendships are being cemented. I believe that God is at work among us as we meet from week to week.
Xplode
We are now coming to the end of our fourth year of Xplode Childrens Club. It takes place every Monday night from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. We have seen an increase in our weekly attendance with an average of 25-30 children coming each week. We also have two new team members.
Each week children from different backgrounds come together to play games and do crafts and activities. We also teach a Bible story and memory verse each week. We have a reward system, where children are rewarded for good attendance by receiving a prize every 5 weeks and we also have a 'Best Boy' and 'Best Girl' prize each week!
We would really appreciate your prayer support as we continue to plan for the year ahead!
